Nagorno-Karabakh

Region in the south-west of Azerbaijan. The territory of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Province established within the Azerbaijan SSR on July 7, 1923. Included Aghdara, Asgeran, Shusha, Khodjavend and Hadrut. Its self-governing status was eliminated because of the terrorist and aggressive activity of the Armenian separatists. Currently the Nagorno-Karabakh and seven districts around that are under the Armenian occupation. Azerbaijan proposes the highest self-administration status to the Nagorno-Karabakh on condition of liberation of the occupied territories and restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan
