People forced to withdraw from Armenia and the Azerbaijani territories such as the Nagorno-Karabakh and seven districts around it as a result of the Armenian aggression. In 1988 pressures on the Azerbaijani people in Armenia, the bordering districts and the Nagorno-Karabakh were launched by Armenia and the Armenian separatists with the aim of secession of the Nagorno-Karabakh from Azerbaijan. As a result of the ethnic cleansing, nearly 250,000 Azerbaijanis were forced to leave their homes in the Armenian territories. As a result of the aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, 700,000 Azerbaijanis were compelled to withdraw from the Nagorno-Karabakh, 7 occupied districts around it and other settlements bordering with Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh. They became internally displaced persons. Consequently, the number of the Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs reached one million because of the Armenian aggression.
