Secretary General of OSCE in 1999-2005. Worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia in 1992-1993. Served as the Permanent Representative of the Slovak Republic to the UN Office in Geneva in 1993-1994, and as the United Nations special envoy to Tajikistan.
